Re: Twin disc master cylinder

DD, The price of a new Chinese one one is less than a seal kit for a Grimeca! Not particularly reusable but a solution if there are no other options. Completely agree, but personally I feel some responsibility to maintain the Italian-ness of my bike as it's lasted this long with the correct parts. ...

Anyone in Straya looking for a 3½ Sport?

We currently have an embarrasment of riches here in NZ, three for sale at the mo.

All for sale on Trade Me.

I have no connection to any, I'm just amazed as I haven't seen a roadworthy Sport for sale in 15 years and these are all gorgeous!

Re: Twin disc master cylinder

You'll probably get the same advice as on fb. Did you decide against the Mdina ones?

One of the dangers of buying a random Japanese/Chinese one is sourcing the right seal kit when the time comes, or the next owner not knowing what to source.

They are very helpful at dellorto.co.uk. I would just cut to the chase and ask them for advice.

Very interesting, Anne. That means Fiona is in a class of her own, I knew this already!

Re: Sourcing bottom end spares

Can I just say, the main reason I avoid more general motorcycle forums/fora and online advice is the prevalence of toxic neanderthal maleness, regardless of the required answer. So, it is with barely-contained joy I see here we have regular and worthy contributions from Anne and Fiona. (Certainly no...

Re: For the club strada- marzocchi dampers

I don't have any but I roundly applaud the use of Italian components.

I appreciate that in the UK Hagons may well be an easy fix (despite my not bonding with them at all) but they also serve to "de-Italianise" the model significantly.

Excellent, I can see you're fixed now but I was going to suggest you try and source a Clag-Gone tool that was once advertised in Viz Comic.

Wow, that is one gorgeous 500!
Just from picking up my old footrests in their baggie, I'm willing to bet the Tarozzis are a lot lighter. Also, they're made of chocolate.

Re: Grimeca master cylinder lever operation

For us in 2022 easy to be critical of the design but in 1975 when introduced it was pretty much state of the art for hydraulic disk brakes. Not forgetting, they're also damned sight better than the Scarab systems fitted to contemporary MV-Agustas! Of course the brakes can now be replaced with up to...

NZ Section at the NZ Motorcycle Show

Just a heads-up for any local members, I will be displaying my K1 at this show, this coming weekend. It's by no means a contender for anything but "Run wot ya Brung" department but it does come up nicely. On the other hand, last year's Best-in-Show winner, Malcolm Anderson (who makes the s...

Re: Grimeca master cylinder lever operation

Yep, correct adjustment and regular maintenance is key. Any design will fail without these.
