Re: Weight of a 3 1/2 engine for shipping
FYI the engine arrived as shipped which amazed me since it was placed in a thin plastic crate with some cardboard wrapped around it. It weights 41kg. This is without the rotor or the rotor cover. It includes the kickstart and presumably the engine oil.

Excellent, I'm interested in adding to my collection if they're inexpensive.

Re: New Poly-Kevlar timing belt to be tested
@smotorboy - yes please. I've just bought an old 3 1/2 Kanguro engine and it'd be a good candidate to try a new belt on.

Re: Electronic Fuel Tap repairs
I must admit I simply replaced the electric taps with standard taps that have a reserve. That gives me two taps that both have main and reserves for not much money. If I ever find my old electric tap somewhere I'll test it and see if it works, however I think I may have donated it to NLM when I repl...

Re: New Poly-Kevlar timing belt to be tested
Can you provide details of the fancy belt you're using please? might be great to try on my bikes too although they aren't going to work as hard as your one, I hope PS All the best for your attempt to break the record.

Wow, I didn't know this event existed, sadly for me I'll be in NY until 12th May so can't join you in person. I hope it's a wonderful experience.

Re: Dyno testing of my 501 engined 3 1/2
I went to the effort of fitting the Excalibur exhausts as my bike simply wouldn't reach 160 kph (100 mph) with the 2 into 2's. I'll try changing the pilot jets and also 118 mains. Thanks for the suggestion. BTW I'm considering getting the excalibur tubing copied in S/S and adapted to fit better in a...

Dyno testing of my 501 engined 3 1/2
I've seen discussions of the exhausts, carbs, airboxes, etc. to get 501 engined 3 1/2's to behave. I've owned my 501 engine since it's youth in a 501 New York. NLM fitted it with their S/S 2-2 clone exhausts and standard airbox (with filters) into a 3 1/2 K1 frame about a decade ago and 2 years ago ...

Harry, the attachment doesn't seem to have loaded. Could you copy+paste the contents of the file here? or if the contents are too much to be pasted in full, then whatever you can usefully extract from the document? You're welcome to email the file to me julianharty@gmail.com and I'll have a go at pa...

Re: Mazocchi Fork length(s)
Norbert, thank you for this also. Do you happen to have the Morini part number for the stanchions too? I don't have a parts book for the road bike (just for the Kanguaro which doesn't help here).

Mazocchi Fork length(s)
The last of my questions for this batch, what's the length of the standard fork stanchions for 3 1/2 Sport/Strada bikes please? The old Harglo manual states a few were 62cm but most are 65cm. There are some NOS 35mm Mazocchi legs for sale at 61cm, 68cm and 70cm of these I'd guess the 68cm ones are c...

Weight of a 3 1/2 engine for shipping
Hi, I've found an incomplete 3 1/2 engine for sale abroad. All the metal bits are there apart from the R/H casing and the ignition pickup cover. It's a pre-electric start engine. I'd appreciate any insights on the weight of these engines. The seller doesn't have a scale, they estimate it's about 45Kg.

Torque setting for engine bolts please
I've searched here, and in the blue book & even the Harglo manual. Others have asked this question, however since it's not been answered from what I can tell, I'll ask: What do you use/recommend for the torque setting for the engine bolts please? And do you use different values for the bolts tha...
