Re: Crankcase Breather Labrynth
Stainless washers with flats silver soldered on a stainless rod?  That sounds like my sort of bodge Ian! Only I would do it cheaper! Stainless washers with flats on a threaded stainless rod with a series of locknuts spacing them at exactly the right distance. This exactly right distance ...

Re: Capless idiot light bulb size
That's bad news about the MOT regulations, but I wonder how strictly they will be applied, especially as regards bikes? I've run a HID H4 in my '85 Alazzurra for a good 15 years and it has never been questioned. As it happens, that particular HID bulb is the only one of several installations that h...

Re: Capless idiot light bulb size
Hi Mr T, is this another LED you've tried? I seem to recall you experimenting before with them? How does the beam work out with this new daylighter version? I guess you may not have been able to test it properly at night yet, but I'm keen to know-It may save me spending on another experiment ;-) Ti...

Re: Capless idiot light bulb size
The bulbs on my K1 are 286 /T5 capless wedge bulbs. My instruments and some of the warning lights are Led, not the main beam as too bright and I did not bother with my indicator due to polarity issues but may yet do this as its the most important. Some of my bulbholders are held in with a dap of ma...

Capless idiot light bulb size
Does anyone know the size of the capless bulbs that fit into the 78 Strada idiot lights? Are they 286’s? The reason for asking is that I have changed my headlight bulb for one of Paul Goff’s Daylighter bulbs and found upon fitting that the headlight was on full beam no matter whether the switch was ...

Re: pilot light 239 LED equivalent
Yes I have one fitted to my bike, bought it quite cheaply at Halfords, they come in packs of 2 and are much better than the standard incandescent type.

Re: Return to Strada Spec
Well Guys, Thanks for all your helpful input. The problem has been solved :) After reading the latest replies to my thread this morning, I went up to my very chilly shed and started to look at the suggestion of throttle cable hang up. Started at the carb end and although I had screwed the adjusters ...

Re: Return to Strada Spec
Did you have the slides out? It's possible on VHBs to install them backwards - taller face to the filter side. Hi, the slides were not removed, that is what is puzzling. The only things that have been removed were the chokes and the twist grip off the clip ons. The twist grip was not dismantled, ju...

Re: Return to Strada Spec
We haven't said if the chokes were on or off when the engine was revving it's nuts off. With both chokes on my 3 1/2 revs to over 3000 rpm with the throttles closed. With one choke only it is much better. If you take the chokes out you should see a small round indentation on the rubber sealing face...

Re: Return to Strada Spec
The choke parts are part number 8294 and are identical to the old ones. I checked down the holes and there is nothing in there that shouldn’t be.The throttle cables are the ones that came with the bike and were not changed when I put the Tarrotzi clip ons and rear sets on in 2012. I checked the cabl...

Hi Guys, I have now had to let head rule heart, Just retuned my Morini3 1/2 to the Stradaspec that I originally purchased it in due to my advancing years and now not being able to hack the Cafe Racer riding position due to a back injury.
