Re: restoration/clean up

New cables from NLM, some fuel, and away it ran. Sounds quite loud though, not that it bothers me at all!!!! Every thing works, now. I wired up the rev counter as the wiring guide showed, but it didn't work. There is a stud on the back that had nothing on it, but there was an earth through th...

restoration/clean up

Image

Not a full restoration, just a tidy up of this 76 350, that was orginally Dutch. Still need a few bits, but a bit of time over the weekend helps the progress!!

Jet Sizes

Can anyone give me an idea of what jet size would be right for a standard '76' Strada with a pair of black competion Lafranconi's fitted??? I am in the process of 'cleaning up' the strada, but it came with 92 size jets!! I got it in 'non'-running condition, but it started when i got it home. http://...

Re: 250 2C

Why not try a Monster?? Far nicer than jap rubbish, and a piece of cake to maintain. A 600 is OK but a 750/800 is better and not really expensive to purchase. I use an ST2 for commuting (85 miles a day), and it cost £1500 fo a 2003 model, but needed new belts and an air sensor (less than £100 in spa...

Re: NLM's 74 DBS

I tryed the Saturno too. So uncomfortable, so i bought a grey import Nordwest from Benjy, which was quicker and handled better!! And £7000 for a drum braked sport, and not even a very good one. It had lots of things that were not correct. I part ex'ed my 18 month old drum braked sport for an alloy w...

Re: Expert help needed!

Hi Nick, I had a similar problem, also it made an odd noise with a closed throttle at speed. Carbs were correct, so took it to Stockwell Motorcycles (Yes it was a few years ago), the result a burnt exhaust valve. Generally it ran OK, but not as 'sharp' as normal. So check the compression, or wip the...

Re: 350 cylinder head air flow Part II

Lots of ideas and expense!!! I think with Turbo charging (not so much supercharging) the power output is extremely variable, the more you spend (time and money) the more power you can get!(up to when it goes BANG  ) So a target is needed for your personal application. My original target was Du...
