Mine is a '77 with an empty slot, ignition and main beam. The empty slot used to be indicators but they were so erratic and only worked when the sun was in the east and it was a full moon rising or something like that so as our MOT man said it was ok they were removed and stored. Bought and sold man...

Had similar problem. Turned out the brushes in the motor had seized up so not able to move backwards and forwards in the holders. Strip motor down and Clean up with a good degreaser and spray with silicone oil. Its not flammable. If using wd40 let it dry before spinning motor or you could get flame...

The 250RS was, and probably still is, a great bike. It is, just need to sort the starter motor on one of them, needs a rebuild I think and I'm not capable! :( Does it spin the engine, or does it not turn at all? If the former could be the battery, the latter could be the solenoid. David Silver Spar...

As well as the 1977 Strada I have a 1949 AJS which I've had longer than the Strada, a CB250RSA & A CB250RSD with an inoperative electric start . Also a couple of Serows for playing on muddy lanes. Oh and a 2021 MT03 as I've downsized due to short legs and advancing years.
