Re: Morini riders in Peterborough area?

Let me know if you want company next time you head that way (maybe next year now the weather is turning). Wells is just up the road from Brancaster and is a regular bikers meeting point near the quay (free bike parking too). Fish and chips there is excellent too!

Morini riders in Peterborough area?

Hi, Just wondered if there are any other Morini riders near Peterborough. During the summer I regularly ride to the Norfolk coast on a Sunday morning but have never seen another Morini! The Norfolk coast road from Hunstanton to Wells is a nice ride and can be continued as far as Cromer. Wells is a p...

Tyre recommendations please

My Morini 350K Sport will soon require new tyres and I would like recommendations from other riders as to suggested replacements. It is currently shod with Avon Roadriders which are fine but thought I'd enquire of others before purchasing new ones - will obviously need new tubes too. Also, do you gu...

350K performance

My bike is near perfect but I have always had doubts over it's top speed. I've never managed 90mph plus and my Sport is supposed to exceed the ton. It handles well, picks up well through the gears but seems down on top speed so not sure if my expectations are too high or whether the bike has a fault...

Electric Start problems

I know the Morini electric starter is often removed from bikes but mine was working fine until recently but has now developed a small problem and I'd like to fix it (myself if possible). Usually starts first prod of the button when cold but fails to re-start every time when warm. Just wondered if an...

Re: Carb "mixture/petrol screw" set-up

Thanks for the replies guys. Hoping to go to NLM next week for MOT so I'll ask Alex to check it while I'm there. In the meantime I've dug ot an old copy of the Harglo manual and temporarily set the carbs up following their guidance (removing the plugs one at a time, using the mixture screw to obtain...

Carb "mixture/petrol screw" set-up

Assistance or advice please...... I am trying to find information about setting my carbs up correctly and thought I'd ask fellow riders for their help. The carbs seem to have just one screw for mixture (or petrol flow) and one for idle speed (throttle stop). The "mixture" screw seems to me...

Re: Good pictures

Interesting site, nice 500. There's some nice (other make) bikes on there too and a few pictures of a "not so typical" female Royal Enfield rider!

Re: Looking for pipes of peace not pieces of pipe!

I suggest checking the exhaust ports for correct seating and also to make sure all traces of the old gaskets have been removed. I had a similar problem when I first tried to attach new silencers last year and the "wrong" angle was caused by bits of old gasket having lodged themselves in th...

BMF Show - Peterborough 19th & 20th May 2012

Is there any intention of MRC having a stand at this year's BMF Show?

I've not been to the show in over 20 years but remember that MRC always used to have a presence and was wondering as I may attend this year and it would be a good chance to meet like minded Morini enthusiasts.

Re: "Flapping" brake lever

Thanks guys, wavy washer/shim fitted (taken from part of a Shimano bicycle brake assembly I had knocking around) and no more flapping! Still enough free play to ensure lever does not jam and pivots freely. Road tested and works fine. Thanks again.

"Flapping" brake lever

Any ideas for helping me fix an annoying rattle on my 1981 350K please. This is the single disc Sport model. My front brake lever seems to have a considerable amount of up and down "play" which rattles and "buzzes" at higher speed. At low speeds I can counter this by riding with ...

Missing Parts

Hi All, Does anyone have, or can point me in the direction of the following "missing" items from my 1981 3 1/2 Sport? :- 1. Steering lock (and keys) - mine has none so fitting should be easy, just can't find one anywhere. 2. Seat lock (and keys) - also missing. This may be harder as it is ...
