Just a clarification please.

Re: Tyre valves

Whilst all the above about cast wheels being either designed for tubeless or not is true I have found that a lot of cast Italian rims of that era seem to cope tubeless as long as the valve aperture is reemed to suit a tubeless valve stem. There is hot debate on some forums as to if you should or sho...

Re: Kph Speedo

Simon, I'll have to check but I know I've got a veglia speedo in MPH but I'm not sure if I have a Moto Morini labelled one. The veglia one's will fit, you may just need to remove the holding threads that extend out for other makes. I'm in Australia but I'm coming to the UK late August. I'm happy to ...

Re: Reserve fuel tap

I removed the electric tap and used a standard gravity feed tap to replace it. Both taps now have on and reserve. I normally only run with one tap on. I've never experienced a fuel starvation issue with only one normal tap. Have both on if you feel the need with the reserve amount still there via th...

Hi M, I'm a 500 Seiv guy and I find 6th a bit of an overdrive. Useful in a downhill run with a bit of a tail wind. Rear sprocket teeth can account for a lot though. If you find the gearing is generally too high then you can increase the rear sprocket. Veglia instruments are commonly referred t...

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield

I've got here a bit too late. I've got 2 original heat shields off my 500 but I'm in Australia so it will probably be cheaper to get one from NLM than for me to post one. Faster too. The rear sets on the 500 don't allow me to have the original fitted but mine came with a really nice short shie...

Re: New to the Morini 3 1/2 Sport

Hi Brett, There are a few pockets of Morini ownership in Oz that I know of. There are a few of us on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and Melbourne has a few bikes that I know of too. The Festival of Italian Motorcycles had a number turn up there. A ride report on my Guzzi and a link on there to som...

Re: Merry Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas from the southern Hemisphere.

Its warm here but wet. We have a lot of flooding as a cyclone is off the north east coast of Queensland.

Have a good holiday season. The Seiv is sitting in the shed dry.

Re: Getting the best form your carbs

I find it interesting that no one seems to compensate for the different rotational requirements of the 2 cylinders when balancing using vacuum gauges. The front cylinder only has to rotate the engine 288 degrees but the rear has to rotate it 432 degrees but most seem to give the 2 cylinders equal fu...

Re: Priming the Master Cylinder

I'm only new to the forum and I relise that this thread is fairly old but I've also had issues with this. I've come to similar conclusions about the spring but have overcome it with different strategies. 1. I modified a plastic cone to sit in the M/C and hold the spring as it is compressed. It also ...
