Re: Steering Damper question
A Morini doesn’t really need a steering damper and I suspect they were fitted more for fashion reasons than anything else. In my opinion, given this, fitting a modern aftermarket damper is unnecessary. The look of a sport with one is quite unique part of its character though. I’m not aware of a supp...

Re: Gear selector clearance to casing
What are you trying to achieve? Display of the selected gear number? My Corsaro already does this and I would imagine it’s the same for all of the 1200s? You can select gear as the displayed metric in the bottom right of the LCD by cycling through the options with the button on the dash. If gear isn...

It’s an Excalibur toolbox with that part number.

Re: is it the carbs
Are you sure you haven’t fitted the slides back to front? The number of times I’ve seen this is beyond count. It’s easily done as nothing stops the slide or cap being put on the wrong way round. Throttle cable should enter on the engine side of the carb and the cable run from adjuster to slide shoul...

Re: About the dart decals
I don’t know anything about that company but I was highly suspicious about the decals they claim to have- the artwork doesn’t look right to me- out of proportion and why the big Cagiva logos? I suspect they have just generated a proof from a photo of a dart. Would be good to be proven wrong on that ...

Re: Badges, stickers or paint
When I bought my k sport the badge clip recesses had been filled with body filler by a previous owner but the pinhole leak soon got through that, so I had the tank completely stripped and had the recesses lead loaded before a repaint. I had Alan Fox do my tank restoration and paint. I’m not sure if ...

Re: Carburation issue?
Are you running a standard exhaust and airbox? These things have a big effect on jetting and even a change in silencers to something similar looking but not fundamentally the same as original will have an influence. However, assuming your bike is as standard, I would be considering the following: 1)...

As mentioned, The OM and DGM numbers are homologation numbers. Your frame number is K24280 and this is all that should appear on the V5. The club can provide a dating certificate for the purposes of DVLA dating and obtaining an age related registration. Dating certificate is free to club members or ...

There is a faulty one on eBay, might be useable for you though?

Also, although the software and screen printing will be Morini specific, the case and hardware is bound to be common to other bikes.

Re: Check for leaks
The o ring should fit quite easily over the float, however normally the float expands in use and this is probably why it was tight to get off. Always a good idea to change the O ring when reassembling the tap. Sometimes a smear of hylomar on the flange faces is a good idea too. You are quite lucky y...

Re: Check for leaks
Not sure what the original tanks are made of. There are no material spec markings. What I can say is that they aren’t dimensionally stable so any repair to them needs to be a little flexible as well as fuel proof. Also, the outer surface is fairly repellant to anything bonding to it. It can of cours...

Check for leaks
Just a reminder to all you Dart owners to check for fuel tank/fuel tap leaks as part of your routine maintenance. It’s well worth the effort to take the panels off for a check- Even if you have an aluminium tank! It’s well known that fuel tank and tap leaks are a problem on darts, and the aluminium ...
