Re: Strada MK5 Front Spindle washer

Well that’s solved that mystery! Got rubber seal bearings so that explains it! Just so I can retire for the evening a happy man could someone just confirm if the ONLY washer in this affair lives on the disc (inside) or nut (outside) side of the fork leg? Just to be sure 🤦🏻

Strada MK5 Front Spindle washer

Hi all Taken front wheel out today and am certain I’m missing the offside washer on the spindle, didn’t see it and it’s nowhere in the confined space I’m in so a bit worried. The part in question is page 50 of the green Morini Riders book (‘Disc Brake-Cast Wheel) #16 M430549 Mdina don’t have one but...

Thanks Steve, good to know. I already got these from eBay which should be fine for both sides, but I’m also going to have a good look at your suggestion also

Strada MK5 (1979/80) Fork Seal Size

Evening all All my parts guide/blue book says is 35mm. I’m sure they’re 35-47 but there seems to be either 7 or 10 as the final number (height). Can anyone confirm the correct ones before I order? Mdina seem to have 3 possibles, including Pantah ones. I also understand you need 2 per side. I’ve only...

Re: Spark plugs

‘Some are cheap and some are extortionate’ Here lies the evil of the online seller. Worked in the trade most of my life and it’s been well known for over a decade now that the fakers are focussing on the more trusted brands, especially NGK, DID, Akropovic etc. Very hard to tell, except when you get ...

And still, I remain confused...

Hello everyone, here's another borderline dumb musing as I DON'T go for a ride today due to tropical temperatures coupled with gale force wind gusts and heavy showers that appear and disappear without warning. I was helped muchly when i was advised that my initial running of both fuel taps was only ...

Re: Rear Brake Shoes

Got mine back and, they’d lined them too much! They were very surprised as they were ‘certain’ of the supposedly stock thickness but-to quote their own technical explanation-‘three passes on the skimmer and they’re bang on’. Glad I did as now I see them at their optimum, they were well worn, and gla...

Re: Rear Brake Shoes

Dropped mine in the liners today, he said there was a decent amount meat on them but they were pretty glazed, so for £25 I’m happy-I’ve no idea if that’s cheap or dear but it’s part of the health check IMO

Re: Rear Brake Shoes

So the EBC 921 is 160 x 30 and doesn’t fit any cast wheel 350s according to Mark’s-well, everyone’s!- contribution. That’s why this brand new set of Galfer shoes I’ve had in their box for the past year won’t fit my 1980 350! I’ll list them on but/sell. Best start looking for the 180 x 35s!!

Re: Rear Brake Shoes

Thanks for the confirmation Mickey (and fastmongrel), I did put ‘mag’ wheels in the OP but that might not be the best word to describe them. Still, the community comes up trumps for me as usual, thanks 🙏
