Re: NEW! Green Lane Morini Section

Yes Steve, I'll pm you for the what's app group as I'm interested to see how you all get on down in Leicestershire. Paradoxically, there is the right to roam anywhere on foot in Scotland, but not for vehicles. Bike access is limited here and southeast England isn't much better. We are sounding out a...

Re: NEW! Green Lane Morini Section

Good show! I'm also doing my bit way up north. No green lanes up here, so land access is always difficult but we got some permissions on some old stalking tracks in Assynt and off we went. The DR fell in one of the river crossings, and my Kanguro went A over T in a deep gully, but no bones or bikes ...

Re: Kanguro refresh

Nice one Steve. Yes Cookie's bike does look good with the Camel headlamp. I'm not in your part of the UK, so trf meets are probably not on, but I had booked to go to the Adventure bike festival at Ragley Hall for this year on my old timer, but like lots of planned events it has been cancelled. It ha...

Re: Kanguro Monoshock replacements

Thanks for passing that on Steve,
Half the battle with these oldie italian factory parts bin bikes is finding out some dimensions or specifications when you don't have an original, so it's impossible to get a match even if you can get parts anymore - mostly we can't. We now can get shocks, so Horray.

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Hi I am rebuilding an X3 from a large pile of bits. I am currently stuck with the wiring. so before I start asking what wire goes where I thought I would ask if any one has a wiring diagram for the X3. Also is there a fuse box? all I have found is the Bakerlite junction box one inline fuse and one ...

Thanks for the wiring diagram, that will help for future reference.
Your X1 looks nice with the Camel size round headlight - it's a good look!

Re: Kanguro refresh

Hi Julian, I got it from MD Racing. In fact they're very helpful and good for lots of generic enduro parts. I'm sure they can get stock eventually, just difficult right now. Also search online from Italy. As for the sidestand U, any breaker should be able to provide a damaged threaded heavyweight on...

Re: Recommendations for buying cables for the Kanguro X

Wow! I thought I'd had to do a fair bit of work to mine. I now see why you were asking about pattern parts. I'm sure if you get the mechanical parts prioritised, the cosmetics will be ok. If you go for a non-standard enduro look it shouldn't be too expensive. I didn't spend much on mine, mainly my t...

Re: Kanguro refresh

Hi again Julian, the mudguard was a new one from the "vintage" range now being re-made by UFO plastics. The Scout enduro PP01208-41. I give you the reference because they do different sizes and the one you think will fit was way too big. It comes with the light and that or the Acerbis equi...

Re: Kanguro refresh

Cosmo, Please could you add some photos and details of the sidestand, and how you mounted it to the frame? I and several others are all trying to sort out sidestands for old Kanguro X models (the one with the sidestand mount on the swingarm). If you also happen to have details of the rear light uni...

Re: Kanguro refresh

Very cool ! So for the electrically disabled persons (me) does what you just say mean I could do it to my mk1 Camel too ? I suspect that's very likely although you'd need to check how that's wired. It is probably very similar to the early 6v/12v Kanguros. Wire colours vary, but follow the guides on...

Here's what I was doing..... IMG_20190808_100016_edited.jpeg 450 miles in two days mainly single tracks or off roads in the Northwest Highlands and Skye in the company of a Ducati Desert Sled. The Kanguro didn't miss a beat despite thrashing the living daylights out of it to keep up on the short mai...

Re: Kanguro refresh

Hello Jon (Chippy), The LED's were cheapo chinese ones designed as swap outs for the instrument lights, indicators and tail/stop so were straight fits and reduced the lighting loads by at least 35-45W on full load before thinking about the headlight. It did run a 55/60 W halogen and the all lights, ...

Re: Kanguro refresh

I've been putting some miles on the bike recently. A few minor issues have been dealt with. An air leak from one of the inlet manifolds was causing a popping exhaust. New SS jubilee clips sort that. A few bolts gave come loose and bits fell off, - chain roller, rear pegs etc. now all loctite'd in pl...
