Re: Cadwell 2013 Thanks

Agreed. Excellent day, well organised and one of the best selections of bikes ever. In fact everything was perfect until I was filling up on the way home, and the oil pressure light started to flicker. Yet another rebuild on the cards...................

Re: Everytime i ride my wife's SV650....

Size yes, characteristics NO ! A few years ago a friend passed his test and asked me to recommend a suitable bike. I said an SV650, as that's what everyone was advising at the time. He gave me his budget and just told me to find a good one and buy it for him. I arrived in Banbury, at a sellers house...

Re: Cadwell 2013

I am hammering bits back on to the bike as we speak. I've even adjusted the chain and checked the oil level this year so you can see I'm taking it a bit more seriously than usual. Unfortunately I forgot to take the centre-stand off while I had the pipes off (can't get the bolt out now), so the Goose...

Re: Motobatt MBTX30U battery

Hi thanks, yeah there are plenty of options for physically smaller batteries I can fit, but I want to maximise the size if possible. I'm not too bothered about the excess weight as this is just my touring bike (though it will have to 'tour' Cadwell in a week :) ) .

Cheers

VMCC Founders Day - 21st July. Stanford Hall

Hi,

'just wondering if we have a club stand this year ? I'll be there on my 500/6 either way, but can park it on the stand if we have one. We always used to.

Cheers

Motobatt MBTX30U battery

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has experience of fitting one of these to a 500 ? I want to put one in, but the dimensions seem extremely borderline given the tight space available. The MBTX30U is listed as a direct replacement for the standard 12N24, but even the (dead) battery I have in now (a Y...

Re: Cadwell 2013

Hi Paul,

Similarly sorry for my delay in getting back. 'Just been riding over the Khardung La Pass (5,358m) and back in India, which was 'interesting'. I've sent you a PM.

Cheers

Re: Cadwell 2013

OK, just to add more confusion, I had a look at the Beezumph website. They're on next day and I might stay on for this if still vertical/in one piece/can find the cash (I'll stay on to watch anyway) They say there is no charge for entry 'or for camping' (which I presume means Friday night as well as...

Re: Cadwell 2013

Hi Paul,

Just wondering if the Wagon and Horses is still on this year, or whether the wastes of Cadwell are the only (non-draught, non-keg, no-nothing) option ? Or is it free-style camping in the Morton's car park with some Party Sevens ?

Cheers

Re: Moto 3

You're not wrong. Though you always have to be cautious with factory claims. In 1968, the last year they competed domestically, Moto Morini were claiming 40hp for their 3 valve 250 (they'd found 4 valves and desmos gave no advantage). Prior to the 2012 season Honda were claiming 48hp for their new M...

Re: Strada with twin disc front forks

Hi Bobajob, No that all looks standard. If you remove the speedo drive you'll see the heads of the bolts which hold the disc on, on the other side on. All you need is some longer bolts and another disc. The speedo drive will then need to be trimmed down to fit. Once you've removed the speedo drive y...

Re: ATG 322 now online

Cheers Tom, Thanks for the link. ATG - Excellent presentation as ever. Particularly liked the BEARS piece. The MRC and Beezumph Cadwell dates represent an appealing (if pricey) doubleheader, but it does mean ensuring you stay the right way up on the Friday (which I've not always achieved  ) to...
