Re: No spark back cylinder

Thank you for the comprehensive replies The collection of parts is: A US imported 3 ½ sport. Electric starter, alloy wheels, painted mudguards, had a left hand shift, no bodywork, so I think it’s 1980 Red pickup – no visible signs of cracking. I haven’t disturbed it so the make is unknown Blue Ducat...

Re: No spark back cylinder

I'm experienceing a similar issue. It's always started easily (at least by comparison with other's horror stories!) and idled smoothly but just lately there's some occasional exhaust popping at idle. Plus a distinctly flat feel to the throttle response until 2500 rpm or so and then everything seems ...

Re: Rocker adjuster screws - a plea!

Why not Aluminium nuts? Surely they'd be even lighter

Or just reduce the thickness of the originals

Re: pickup voltage required

This might help http://www.morini-riders-club.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4316 Though at the time of posting my result I had a mish-mash of ignition parts. A red pickup and grey transducers which are supposed not to work together but seemed to do so just fine. I've subsequently changed to the ...

Re: Martin Gelder - RIP

Sad news indeed, it was seeing Martin's bike and having a chat with him at a Snetterton trackday that made me decide to get a Morini

Re: Strada UK import : ex owner and strange framepart

This is the left hand shift tube on my 1980 (I think) american market example. The upper one is the pedal pivot and the lower one takes the bar that runs from one side to the other

Re: Help_carb settings_poor pick up after revving to c.4,500

While searching for hints about my bike's stutter on light throttle after a carb rebuild I've come across threads which indicate modern fuels seem to run richer and therefore need smaller idle jets to smooth the progression. Another symptom of an over rich idle mixture is a tendency for the engine t...

Re: Electronic Tacho signal

Thus far my estimation of rpm has been based on listening to the engine note from peoples videos of the cadwell trackday and assuming that's about the upper limit! Something a little more accurate seemed a good idea! Given my other bikes are a V4 and a single I could just sort of split the differenc...

Re: Electronic Tacho signal

Resurrecting an old thread I know but... My tacho doesn't work, actually it never has! It's fed with a signal by a small PCB which is conncted to where the pickup feeds into the transducer because - you guessed it - my transducers are the grey ones without a tacho output. I've checked the tacho itse...

Re: Tarozzi Rear Sets

Even with the NLM extender block the standard kickstart lever will hit not only the non-folding footrest but the brake lever too. If you cut about 15mm off the brake lever pin and trim the rubber cover to suit it'll clear.
There was a recent thread which showed a couple of solutions

Re: Tarozzi rearset problem

A while ago someone (sorry can't recall who) described their use of a small folding footrest from an off road(?) bike so that the footpeg AND lever both flipped up to vertical

A man with a plan!

I'd move the grinder right to one end of the bench so that any sparks / particles / flung tools / bloodstains are well away from the bike

Thanks,

I haven't found an engine number, but of course there's no guarantee that it's the original engine...

Having ridden to work today and throughly enjoyed the soundtrack I still have a daft smile on my face!
