Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

First ride, Just took the bike out for 20 mile shake down. nothing fell off, nothing dripped out, nothing stopped working. Didnt stall and had a solid idle at traffic lights. First impressions having never riden the bike before. Excellent riding postion with reasonable wind protection. Handling is w...

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Thanks. Note to self. Don't just replace a non working part in the box of bits with the same part. Check its the right spec first. Thanks to all your input I have a fully functioning electrical system. Horn, All Lights, All indicators and as a treat I have fitted a volt meter to the handle bars and ...

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Final run approaches.... Still have a nightmare with the indicators....All four indicators and idiot lamp are nice and bright all indicator bulbs are the same watt (12v10w). All five flash very fast at the same speed. ( the first flash is a little longer when I operate the switch but then the fast f...

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Hi Guys. Thanks for the advice. After having a massive hunt in the shed I finally found the correct retaining strip and by looking at scuff marks and with the advice I worked out it attached to bottom bolt with the plate at approx the 5 o/c position to keep the wiring as far from the flywheel as pos...

Hi

If you could post a pic that would be helpful. Also what is the route for the neutral wire?

Cheers

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Hi Guys I am finally putting the re re repaired stator back on the bike ( third time and hopefully the last ) but I have forgotten how the neutral wire exits the case and how the stator wires also exit. I vaguely remember a retaining plate for the stator wires but I cant remember what it looked like...

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Hi Guys After another few days in the shed i have moved on to to the stator ( see other post about that!) and the exhaust system. I am fitting new stainless pipes and was just wondering what the advice would be about using exhaust paste and clamps. I have done a dry run and it all seems to fit with ...

Re: Generator potential disaster

Not sure how to move forward at the moment. Do i rivet it? if so advice needed ( rivet virgin!). or nut a bolt? I will post a pic when i g...

Generator potential disaster

IMG_1754[1246].jpg Hi All. Just a cautionary tale. I have been rebuilding my X3 and one of the first jobs was to get the generator rewired at west country windings. So got it back all nice and freshly rewound. I then installed it after a new belt and then attached the flywheel and tightened but not...

Re: fuse box on X3 and other questions.

Hi All. Thanks again for the link to the electrical diagram which was pretty much spot on and as it stands i have all the lights, warning lights, brake lights, horn and indicator lights working. Most of the problems traced back to broken warning light holders ( i found replacements through www.class...
