I've just seen on twitter that the organisers have postponed the show, with a new date of 23-24 Feb identified. Best to check before making any firm commitments but I am sure the club will be looking for bikes to display on the new dates.

Re: Shepton Mallet Show
OUR STAND AT SHEPTON MALLET IS CANCELLED We have made the decision to cancel as we are unable to get to the showground today in safety. Weather conditions in the Shepton Mallet area are very bad with some A roads closed. As a riders club many of our display bikes were to be ridden in and the ones be...

Re: 500 transmission Question ?
What about a 19” rear wheel, and a new rear hub allowing a smaller sprocket, the bigger diameter wheels are supposed to give better traction on the salt.

Re: Engine bars
Don't do it.
They tend to tip the bike upside down onto the clocks and wipe them out as well as the seat etc. Footpegs and a handlebar are cheaper to fix
Best bet is a second grab handle on the RHS to match the one on the left.
merry xmas

Re: Flywheel removal
On some jap bikes there are female threads in flywheels etc that match the thread on the rear axle, and a big heavy spacer as part of the rear wheel assembly which can thus be used as a slide hammer. It’s quite an elegant solution.

Re: Modern bikes
I quite like the Huskies, it looks like a common bit of bodywork applied to a standard frame (OK basically a KTM so a pretty good place to start) to allow street and trail versions, hmm who ever did that before? (Cough Triumph) Its just the fact that the body looks like it has been designed by someo...

Re: New Poly-Kevlar timing belt to be tested
The standard suggestion has always been to sweet talk your local bearing supplier, take home several belts, try them and use the one that fits best and then return the others. It's a lot less hassle than changing pulleys. Whether the belt production process still has the same variability as 40 years...

Modern bikes
Heres a subject for you all to think about, the best answer might get a mention in the next ATG. What is the most over-styled and over thought bike on sale in 2018, you know, the one that makes you think "what have they done?". Note: I'm not looking for the worst bike, thats a different qu...

If you have a spare primary drive you can drop that back on and lock the pair up using a penny(copyright MCM) or a cloth between the pair.

Cadwell by air
Anyone with a bit of spare time won't waste it if they watch Guy Martin's worlds fastest van. Some lovely aerial drone shots of Cadwell during shakedown and test runs. And an interesting bit on sport psychology and eye and focus training to help with his attack on the 'ring record with comparatively...

Another place? Do tell.i don't have time to check every where as I'm writing issue 357, and decorating the kitchen to earn some brownie points at home from the rally organiser.
