Re: Clutch refit issues

Another "bodge" is to buy a long aluminium hex head bolt, drill it all the way through, and cut a slot with a dremel. I had to do this on my 3 1/2 Sport and my Honda CB350 Four as the available clutch cables were all way too long! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52261656862_3ebba2ec3a_...

Hi, what is your wife's bike in the picture?
2001 Honda VTR250. Every time I ride it I'm surprised how capable it is!

Re: another new Sport owner 76 or 77?

Switch gear wiring was not a problem. Ditto with throttle cables (however, mine are homemade and possibly longer than standard). A longer brake line was required (I sourced a very cheap braided line from AliExpress).

Re: Ive bought an early 3 1/2 Sport !

As there is not many here on the western side of OZ and even on the more populated east coast I'm Secretary of the Classic Italian Motorcycle Association of Australia (Vic) Inc, and as such, I maintain the register of bikes on a club permit. There are 19 Morini motorcycles currently on the register...

There was someone years ago making a beautiful stainless steel replica, and I was lucky enough to score one!

I had my stator rewound by Small Coil Rewinds many years ago. The guy who did mine has retired, but these fellas have taken over:

Re: Parts for '78 Strada

I have put a straight edge along the lower frame tube in as many positions as I can and there is no evidence of any bending of the tube; it is perfectly straight. Similarly, close inspection of the lug and adjacent tube shows no evidence of distortion. The sidestand itself is equally free of any ev...

Re: Clutch overhaul tools

I bought a generic clutch holding tool off Ebay. I did have to grind the holder parts of the tool until they were a snug fit in the hub splines, but after doing that it worked very well. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53076269351_6d5866f21c_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53076678795_...

Re: Early type indicators cracking

I rubber mounted my rear indicators & this seems to have solved the rotating issue (looking at the photos it's time for new rubber washers to be installed). Of course, rubber mounting meant the indicators no longer earthed through the bodies, but I discovered my CEV's had provision for a wired e...

Sidestand is bent or so, as the bike leans like crazy on it.
I'm pretty sure you'll find the side stand is straight, and the frame is twisted! Never, ever kick start a Morini on the side stand...

Re: Some carb balancing questions

Rubber parts here (not cheap, but good quality): https://www.startgomma.com/en/magura-mv/moto-morini I had an ever-so-slight stumble on my Mikuni outfitted 3 1/2 Sport. An Italian bike mechanic on Facebook personally messaged me the following: All V-twins work better at off idle if not balanced perf...
