Re: 2010 Morini Treffen - Hockenheim

Well here we go - the next bit of the journey.. Docked in Calais and unloaded - the Kanguro started first kick - it would have started on the electric if I had charged the battery before I left home! As I didn't have a lot of time I took the motorway all the way to Hockenheim. In the 'old days' I wo...

Re: 2010 Morini Treffen - Hockenheim

Well here we are - back at work and heard from the recovery people and the Kanguro will be back 5/6 July. So what happened over the weekend? On Friday last week I left Ashford at 7.00 and headed off to Dover to catch the 0830 to Calais. I booked in and went in the docks to await loading. I stopped i...

2010 Morini Treffen - Hockenheim

Just got back from the German Treffen - shame that D and UK dates clashed - and had a brilliant time!! Shame the Kanguro is still in Belgium awaiting recovery - ignition failure. Got to talk bikes, drink beer, eat German sausage and got to ride round the Hockenheim Ring for half an hour!! More to fo...

30th Morini Meeting - Hockenheim

One for the more adventurous - 18th to 20th June 2010 30th Morinitreffen at the old Hockenheim Racetrack, Germany. Hopefully I will have a Morini to go on - one in bits, one all together but won't run and one altogether but battery is knackered. Anyone interested get in touch as I am conveniently lo...

Re: ATG

Quite agree - wonderful issue!!! I recognised a few of the bodies in the '81 factory visit. I did the factory visit in '83 and the comments about the mopeds brings back similar memories. It seems it is a mateer of principle - if there's a gap - get in it!! Must dig out the pictures - especially the ...

Hi Ben,

I didn't realise they did anything like that up at the cattle market!

I pass by Hawkhurst from time to time so keep an eye out for a black Kanguro or a red Coguaro (if I get it finished!!)!!

I have a similar problem and checked out the cost of repair and someone to do it. I stumbled across www.fueltanks.co.uk and rang them for info and they explained their process. They will open up the tank (after purging), repair any holes, refit the opening, treat the tank with sealant and then prime...

I was wondering about the brake line as the plastic sheath was split just above the master cylinder. The braiding looks OK though. I had the caliper apart and eased off the pistons - and remembered to put the little seal back between the halves! Perhaps I will just ring NLM and get seals and brake l...

Kanguro X3 Rear Brake

Try as I might I cannot get the rear brake on my Kanguro to bleed. I have tried my trusty old brake bleeder, bought a Gunson pressure bleeder and even tried gravity filling the brake line. Whatever I do I cannot get the pedal to firm up. Any suggestions? If anyone has an exploded pic of the rear mas...

Morini Treffen 2008

Moto Morini Treffen - 27-29 June 2008 Well here we are again home from the 2008 Treffen in Lehnin near Berlin. As the Coguaro was not finished I had a last minute dash to get my other eBay Morini mot'd and taxed. The Kanguro was superb - it ran wonderfully and the only problem I had was a broken br...

Strange how time flies!! Currently rebuilding the Coguaros engine having discovered the con rods waved to each other!! New big end shells should cure that. All else seems nice and shiny. Planning to go to the Morini Treffen near Berlin - anyone else interested? The food and beer is first class not t...

I have a magnetic sump plug in my 3 1/2 and have had no problems with interference. It does collect a small amount of sludge which is cleared every oil change. I can't remember if I bought it from WeeVee or Elbymoto when I bought the bike in the early 80's.

When I rebuilt my 3 1/2 after a few years of ownership my dad showed me the best way of getting the flywheel off (assuming the thread on the puller and extractor are OK!). Screw in the puller as far as it will go - only hand tight - and then tighten up the centre puller bolt. Don't hang on it 'till ...
